Best Ariat Cowboy Boots for Women

Currently searching for a new pair of boots? We recommend Ariat cowboy boots and here’s why…

Let me share with you a small cautionary tale about my first western show boots before you plunk down your own money.

Western boots are built to last. That is, of course, an excellent quality that you want your boots to have. But it also means you definitely need to take your time and do your research so that you can choose the best boots for your needs and comfort.

Because let me tell you, my cowboy boots are in impeccable condition even 20 years down the road and here’s why:

#1: These boots were well-made, high-quality boots. But the second reason?

#2: They were extremely uncomfortable. I could only bear to wear them while showing my horse in Western pleasure, equitation and trail classes.

Once my classes were over, I quickly took my boots off and changed into paddock boots or something less stiff.

It’s a shame, too, because those Western show boots were gorgeous, with lovely stitching. But they had an extremely pointy toe and were too just too tight. When I bought them, the clerk brushed aside my concerns and insisted they’d be fine once I broke them in.

Unfortunately, back then, cowboy boots were typically made from a very unforgiving, stiff leather that was hard to break in. I was just not willing to suffer through the pain I would have had to endure in order to mold them to my feet.

I share this story with you for two reasons:

#1: You should always make sure that the western boots you choose fit your feet well.

#2: Buying a comfortable boot is of utmost importance, especially if you want to do more than just pull them on for horse shows.

Fortunately, many of today’s cowboy boot manufacturers understand the importance of comfort, and one of the leaders in this area is Ariat.

In business for more than 25 years, Ariat was founded as a “new breed of boot.” As such, the company has dedicated itself to integrating the type of innovative footwear technologies being used for other athletes into its equestrian boots.

Ariat has, in fact, invested considerable time and money into the design of its products to ensure that you aren’t just buying a good-looking boot, but also one you can wear on a daily basis, if you so desired.

Don’t have the time to visit a bunch of tack shops or websites to search for the right pair of Ariat boots?

Well, fortunately we have this carefully curated list of Ariat cowboy boots for women, all of which you can buy online!

Heritage Western Round Toe

Ariat Heritage Western R Toe Boots
Ariat Heritage Western Round Toe Boots
  • Material: Full- grain leather foot and upper
  • Measurements: 13 inches from arch up, 13 inches around boot opening
  • Heel: Measures approximately 1.5 inches
  • Special Features: Eight-row stitch pattern, Ariat Duratread outsole
  • Colours: Available currently in Distressed Brown.

Ariat Heritage is the classic of the classics and that’s why these guys are still my favourites. They are the first pair of boots that I bought after all the hand-me-downs that I was forced to endure lol.

I was super overwhelmed the first time I had to buy my very own pair. I thought to myself that there was way too many choices and how was I ever going to pick just ONE pair.

The shiny, colourful ones sure did stand out from the rest!

But I wanted something I could wear everyday. Also, I needed something in budget.

I wanted something durable, comfortable and practical. I didn’t need them for shows or anything so I decided on nothing too flashy. After all, I wanted to dress them down with jeans or dress them up with a dress. I wanted a pair to ride in, do chores in and go into town in.

The Heritage round toes checked every single box for me so I got them in the classic brown about 8 years ago and I STILL own and routinely wear the same pair to date.

They’re by far my most broken in and comfiest country boot.

Fatbaby Heritage Dapper Boot

Ariat Fatbaby Heritage Dapper Boot
  • Material: Leather foot and suede shaft
  • Measurements: 8 inches from arch up
  • Heel: Measures approximately 1.5 inches
  • Special Features: 4LR technology for support

Some people love cowboy boots, but find the shaft length uncomfortable for their particular leg shape. Enter the Fatbaby boots. They have a shaft that is three inches shorter than the ones you find on a typical cowboy boot. So, if you’ve been searching for a quality shorter boot, look no further.

The Fatbaby Heritage Dapper boots may be shorter in length but Ariat has not skimped by any means on its craftsmanship. These Western boots are loaded with many of Ariat’s innovative footwear technologies:

  • 4LR footbed for comfort and support
  • Durable and flexible Duratread heel
  • Breathable mesh lining

They also have a durable and lightweight Pro Crepe Light outsole and a round toe for added comfort.

The majority of people who purchase the Fatbaby Heritage Dapper Boot have said that it fits true to size and is comfortable straight out of the box.

These boots are also easy on the eye. They have a five-row stitch design that gives them a little fashion flair.

More importantly for equestrians, these boots aren’t just for hitting the town or for use around the barn. They are honest-to-goodness performance boots that have been approved for riding.

Ariat Cowboy Boots – Round-Up Series…

Round-Up Remuda Western Boot

Ariat Round Up Remuda Boot
  • Material: Full-grain leather foot and upper
  • Measurements: 11 inches from arch up
  • Heel: Measures approximately 1.5 inches
  • Special Features: Two-row stich pattern, rubber sole, square toe

Understated, but stylish, these cowboy boots can easily go from the barn to the show ring to the dance floor. The Round Up Remuda boots are built with your comfort in mind.

For starters, the shaft of the boot — which is graced with an elegant two-row stitch pattern — is made from a lightweight, soft, pliable leather.

These boots also boast Ariat’s 4LR (four layer rebound) footbed. The 4LR is designed to give your foot extra support and comfort, so that you can spend more time on the dance floor or schooling your horse.

And, finally, the outsole of these boots is made from Ariat’s Duratread, which is a rubber compound that is very flexible and wear-resistant.

This sole is also designed to be highly slip-resistant.

Round Up Remuda boots do tend to run a bit on the large side. So, you may want to consider ordering them a half size smaller. Although, before you do, make sure to consider what type of socks you’ll be wearing with these. Some people who purchased these boots said that while these boots were a bit loose when worn with thin socks, they were just right when worn with a thicker pair.

The Ariat Round Up Remuda boot is available in several different shades of brown, with the flashiest featuring a blue stitching that would look great if you will be wearing any turquoise jewelry or your show bridle and/or saddle has any turquoise blue accents.

These Ariat cowboy boots are also offered in wide sizes.

Ariat Round Up Wide Square Toe Western Boot

  • Material: Full-grain leather foot and upper
  • Measurements: 11.75 inches inches from arch up
  • Heel: Measures approximately 1.5 inches
  • Special Features: Four-row stich pattern, wide square toe

These boots are similar to the Remuda, except — as one reviewer who bought this boot wrote — they are “fancier” without being glitzy.

The color selection for these boots, for example, include a powder brown model with a blue interior lining, as well as another version with a hot pink shaft and stitching.

These fashionable boots feature a four-row stitch pattern and are meant to be seen. So they are perfect to pair with a summer dress or shorts or to wear in the show ring.

But, of course, these Ariat cowboy boots are also suitable for wearing around the barn because they feature the brand’s four-layer footbed for comfort, a Duratread outsole and a breathable air mesh lining.

Because of the wide toe box and the fact the shaft is made of a lightweight, pliable leather, most customer reviews have said that these boots require very little to no breaking-in period. Like the Ariat Remudas, these boots are said to run a little large. So, you may want to order a half-size down.

And even though these boots are called Wide Square Toes, they are still available in wide sizes for riders whose tootsies may be happier with just a little more wiggling room.

Ariat Cowboy Boots – Circuit Western Boot Series…

Circuit Salem Western Boot

Ariat Circuit Salem Boot
  • Material: Full-grain leather foot and upper
  • Measurements: 12 inches from arch up
  • Heel: Measures approximately 2.5 inches
  • Special Features: 4LR technology for support

The Circuit Salem Western boot is a stylish and fashionable boot. It has a 12-inch shaft and is available in fashion-forward color choices, such as a chocolate ombre, a distressed pink and a brown with denim blue stitching. The interior has a soft leather lining and the exterior is graced with an attractive six-row stitching pattern.

On some of the color options, the leather is scoured or distressed to give the boot a comfy, worn-in appearance.

Make sure you like the distressed look before you hit the purchase button. The Circuit Salem boots weren’t meant to look like they are brand-new and off-the-shelf.

These boots also have a leather sole, which may seem like a small thing. But if you tend to fall in love with your boots, having a leather sole means that you won’t have to chuck them when the bottoms get worn out. Instead, you can just simply take them to your local shoemaker and have them resoled.

Comfort-wise, the Circuit Salem Western boots have a square toe and Ariat’s 4LR footbed technology.

Most people who have purchased and left reviews for this boot have said that this boot runs true to size and is comfortable to wear.

One drawback? At this time, these Ariat cowboy boots are not available in wide sizes.

Circuit Shiloh Western Boot

  • Material: Full-grain leather foot and upper
  • Measurements: 12 inches from arch up
  • Heel: Measures approximately 1.375 inches
  • Special Features: 4LR technology for support

Do you enjoy standing out in a crowd? Then the Circuit Shiloh Western Boot may be the right choice for you.

This full-leather boot comes in some very eye-catching color options. One has a white shaft and another that has a lovely blue shaft. Both versions are accented with multi-colored five-row stitching.

Love the Circuit Shiloh’s pretty stitch work and styling but would prefer a less flashy boot?

No worries. These Ariat western boots also come in classic brown tones.

Like the Circuit Salem boot, the Shiloh comes with a square toe, 4LR footbed technology and a leather lining.

The heel size, however, is not the same, with the Shiloh’s being slightly shorter. This boot does have a leather sole, so if necessary you can have it re-soled in the future.

For the most part, the riders who have purchased these boots have said that they were true to size and fit as expected. There were, however, a few people who complained that these boots can run on the small side.
